The fashion weeks are just around the corner which is very exciting.
I am really enjoying this video for Alexander Wang
The winding rambles of my everyday life as I try to juggle dreams, kids, real life and cushions.

a fantastic day!

After what seems endless weeks of prioritising accounts and other paid work I have finally had a full day in which to focus on Cushlab....BLISS!
It happened to coincide with the lovely news that one of my cushions has been featured in the March issue of LivingEtc.
Lots of kind tweets and people in the street all mentioning they had seen it, I feel like a celebrity!
I have spent the day reconnecting with customers, press contacts and interior designers, I also launched my cushions on a new website: www.amynicholas.co.uk ...the woman who runs it is lovely, I predict great things!
To end the day of success I was accepted onto www.ukhandmade.ning.com ... not bad for my first day of the year actually giving proper focus to my work!
Here is a picture of the featured cushion....

This made me chuckle....
January is always a troublesome month!
This month isn't exactly going to plan......
I was working on my accounts this time last week and managed to pour an entire cup of tea over my macbook pro...not good moment, after drying out for a while it was still misbehaving so I owned up (I do some work for a design college and they kindly provide me with one!) and it is now being fixed so am currently on a white mac loaner which feels quite retro!
Anywooo I am now excited because next week I can start thinking about designing some new cushions, I just need to clear the decks today in anticipation.

Cooking with Wilfy......
I am currently enjoying a baking frenzy with my 11 year old son Wilf who has opened up a pop up cafe every tuesday in a local church hall... I know!!??? kids are different these days!, anyway he is raking it in and has me helping him to cook french pastries and all sorts, above are some of this weeks treats.
Selfridges window

Thursday saw me working in central London so I had to take a look at the windows that everyone is currently raving about.
They are fantastic, promoting the work of new designers and artists. At the corner of the shop is a window which hostsThe Word-A-Coaster’, produced in collaboration with Stewdio, you pull a lever to activate a giant rollercoaster, and receive a transparent plastic ball from a sea of 30,000. Each contains a personalised New Year fortune reading (digitally printed by Pureprint) centred around a bold adjective set in one of five typefaces. According to my card (number 8066 of 30,000) the new me is going to be baroque! mmmmm. I have to say that though the windows were great I though the interiors section at Selfridges was a dull as ever but then the competition in central London is poor, Liberty has nothing inspirational in their interiors accessory department either......
The sales everywhere were fantastic (for the customer) Cos had some real treats as ever.

Cushlab
New Year Resolution..... start a blog and keep it going, well, given the frenzy that is my life I don't hold up much hope but I will give it a shot! I am hoping that it will work like a visual diary of what I am up to. Today I am not up to a lot....big shop, cooking, ironing and a bit of paperwork. A friend showed me this yesterday, loved it, very calming.
